Injury to the spinal cord may impair the sensory and motor nerves for sexual function. Sexual dysfunction may result due to impairment of the parasympathetic nervous system which reduces the sensory and motor functions used for sexual response. Sexual desire is usually not diminished unless a brain injury accompanies the spinal cord injury. Using the Neuro-Acupuncture methods, special exercises, improving circulation and signaling of the parasympathetic nervous system can greatly improve sexual function. At Neuro-Acupuncture we have been successful in obtaining up to full sexual function for some individuals.
